Ibaka over Harden – Good Choice

I’m a big fan of Aron Afflalo. I appreciate Orlando was never going to get full value for Dwight Howard. But how do you trade the most dominant centre in the game for a complementary piece? Wasn’t Pau on the table? What about Andrew Bynum? ORL didn’t even get the THIRD best player in this deal (Bynum to Philly, Iguodala to Denver). Along with Afflalo they got Al Harrington at $7M per for three years, prospect Nikola Vucevic, and low, mostly lottery-protected draft picks. And they didn’t save any money.

I can’t stand internet abbreviations, but WTF?!!!! read more »

The Gasol Towers can take down the Americans. Source:

Forget that Spain frittered away its preliminary round game against Russia. Forget that Pau Gasol allowed his man to make a game-tying three with 35 seconds to go. Just remember this was not an elimination game, so Spain’s focus (inexplicably) wasn’t there.

When assessing its chances of beating the US, keep the following in mind: read more »
