The Los Angeles Lakers have hit rock bottom. Looking to build on a hard fought loss to the Miami Heat, LA flew to Toronto and got thumped by the lowly Raptors on Sunday. Entering their game in Chicago Monday night, the Lakers sported a record of 17- 23 and occupied 12th place in the Western Conference. read more »

The Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly shopping Rudy Gay, not necessarily to improve the team, but to shed his onerous contract. Gay is owed $16.5M this year, $17.9M next and $19.3M in 2014-2015. Clearly Gay’s five-year $82M deal, which he signed July 1, 2010, was made in the hopes he’d become a superstar. Many derided the contract as inflated, but Gay has the talent to be an elite player. He’s supremely athletic, has good range inside the three point line, and his size (6’9) and ball-handling ability make him a matchup nightmare. read more »

In late October Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey traded, then signed James Harden to a maximum contract. Given the 5 year $80 million deal, Morey thinks the bearded wonder has the capability to be a superstar. But will he be?
